We had a special workshop for speech delivery today.
The speaker is TM Naoki Tamura,
the four times Japan champion of public speaking and the master of storytelling & speech delivery.
This was the first delivery workshop for him, so many guests visited our club.
First, he reviewed the speech workshop he held last November here at Akabane and remembered us that an excellent speech is a great story which is about a journey to overcome an inner conflict by facing an outer conflict.
Then he told the importance of delivery focusing on vocal variety.
We learned that if we change voice volume and speed, we can express different images.
今日は4度の日本チャンピオンに輝いたトーストマスターの田村直樹さんをお招きして、スピーチ・デリバリーの特別ワークショップを実施しました。
実はデリバリーのワークショップは田村さんにとっても初めてということで、多くのゲストの方が、「ぜひ参加したい！」と朝早くから赤羽に参集。最初から熱気あふれる例会となりました。
実は田村さんは昨年の11月にも赤羽にて印象に残るスピーチの作り方について素晴らしいワークショップをしていただいていました。今日はまずそのおさらいからスタートし、「心に残るスピーチは、外的な障害を乗り越えることにより心の葛藤を克服するストーリーである」といったキーポイントや、、スピーチづくりに欠かせない留意点を復習。そして、、デリバリーの重要性について、特にボーカル・バラエティを中心に解説。声の大きさやスピードを変えることにより生み出されるイメージについて学びました。
After his presentation, 5 speakers delivered short speeches and he led feedback session.
Based on actual speeches, he gave concrete advices that were very useful for all the participants.
田村さんのプレゼンテーションの後は5人のデモスピーカーによるスピーチと、それに対するデリバリーの観点からの具体的なアドバイスで、わかりやすく、すぐに役立つ助言にゲストの方々も深く納得、といった表情でした。
熱気あふれる例会の後はみんなでランチに行き、そこでも「心に残るスピーチをするには」といった話に花を咲かせました。
次回は6月15日10～12時に同じく赤羽会館にて例会を行います。
次期役員の就任式もあります。みなさまのお越しをお待ちしております(^^)
During the lunch time after the workshop, we also had fruitful discussion about how to make our speech unforgettable. We had a great time.
Next meeting is June 15th, from 10 to12 at Akabane.
